The village
Al-Muftaha is a visitor village in Abha, Asir Region, and a centre for traditional, visual and photographic arts and crafts, managed by the Ministry of Culture. [1]
Since the early 1990s it has been a landmark preserving the region's heritage, with the King Fahd Cultural Centre and the Talal Maddah Theatre, one of the largest in the Kingdom. [1]
Arts and market
Built in the Asiri style, the village's arcades carry murals by regional artists and Al-Qatt Al-Asiri decoration. Its Tuesday Market is one of Asir's oldest traditional markets. [1]
