Jazan city within a multi-centred region
Jazan city is the regional administrative seat, while the wider territory includes governorates such as Sabya, Abu Arish, Samtah, Farasan and Ad Dair. The region lies in southwestern Saudi Arabia on the Red Sea. Describing it is different from describing the city alone: settlements and activities are distributed among the coast, plains, uplands and islands, each with connections to local resources and routes.
